President’s Message – November 2017

President’s Message – November 2017  I would like to welcome the new members that joined at our October meeting. Two of the new families plus a guest family found out about our Club at the Puyallup Fair .

I would also like to recognize that news articles that our members have written for our newsletter “The Tumbler” in 2017 have so far been reprinted 7 times in various other club newsletters. This is very rewarding to hear as it’s gets the word out that CMS is a thriving healthy Club. Thanks to everyone in the club that has written something for the newsletter whether it has been reprinted or not. We appreciate and value everyone’s input.

I have also started the process of CMS having a children’s program. This is a structured program for budding rockhounder’s that has badges, monetary awards and much more.

In order to get the program up and going I will be the temporary Youth Leader. There is a manual and instructions for the Leader. Would anyone like to volunteer for this position? I will provide backup. I am planning to be fully registered and ready to go by the January general meeting. December is our holiday dinner and auction so it not feasible to have it start in December. The youth meeting will be held at 6 pm just before our General Meeting and last approximately 30 – 40 mins. Keep checking the website and newsletter for our first Youth Meeting.

I guess that’s all that’s presently on my mind.

  • Digging It Welcome to February 2026, the month when our Seahawks brought home a long-overdue second Super Bowl win! 🙂 I’m delighted to be starting my two-year term as the club’s new president. Thank you for electing me to this position, and thank you to Kat Koch for leading our club for the last decade. As we move into February and beyond, I hope to see more of YOU – at meetings, on field trips, in our rock shop, at our show, picnic, and holiday party. To me, the best part of this club – aside from the rocks, of
