President’s Message – July 2017 The Board is still diligently working on a Show budget. Currently the Show meeting is held in conjunction with the Board meeting. All members are welcome to attend if you are interested in helping out or just curious as to what’s happening with the show planning or nuts ‘n bolts of our club. August Field Trip: August 26 – 27, 2017 This WA Mineral Council’s Annual Camp Out in the Greenwater area. You can go camping for the weekend or just meet us on Saturday or/and Sunday for a single day of rock hunting. Everyone is welcome and you DO NOT need to participate in the camping portion. You can meet us at the Ranger Station on the day most convenient for you. Our Annual Club Picnic is Sunday, August 6th Our August meeting is our annual Club picnic and auction. It is on Sunday, August 6th at the Lake Wilderness Arboretum the driveway to the left of the park/lake/lodge. http://dev.lakewildernessarboretum.org/visit/directions/ It is a beautiful spot to enjoy the sunny afternoon, potluck, rock auction, socializing and the gardens. Washington State Fair – Puyallup Online registration is open now! http://www.thefair.com/participate/exhibit-entries The online application is on this page. The Fair receives very few entries for it’s Lapidary section. Therefore, they have notified us they are going to close down this category if entries do not pickup. We don’t want this to happen!
