On Sat. May 16th we went over the mountains to First Creek. The weather was perfect. Three members plus 6 guests made the 2 mile hike in and dug for the prized agate nodules and geodes and geode fragments here. We essentially had two groups of 5 and 4 to allow for some spacing. Wood ticks were not much of an issue this trip. I didn’t have any on me and only one of my guests found a tick when they got home. I think this material is probably the best stuff we find in the field on our scheduled trips, but you do have to pay for it with the hike, as this area is gated with no unauthorized vehicles allowed.
