General Meeting – March 14th

March’s meeting program is on rock displays.

We know all of us are rock hounds and have rocks everywhere. This is your chance to show off your hobby.

Merriann has requested that you send her photos of your display of rocks, minerals or fossils. It can be either indoor or outdoor rock displays, large or small. It can also be any lapidary project: a bowl, bolo-tie, lamp, clock, rock display, outdoor wall, rock pile, etc.

Please send Merriann the photos as soon as possible so she can create the March presentation on rock displays.

Please, if possible, include the name and type of rocks displayed or used.

You should have received an email on January 13th giving you her email address and text address. You can use either method to send her your pics.

If you didn’t receive the email go to our website and click on the “Contact Us” page. Send an email that you need Merriann’s info.

Show ‘n Tell: A rock, mineral, fossil or lapidary project you like to display in your home.

Presidents Message

  • Digging It Welcome to February 2026, the month when our Seahawks brought home a long-overdue second Super Bowl win! 🙂 I’m delighted to be starting my two-year term as the club’s new president. Thank you for electing me to this position, and thank you to Kat Koch for leading our club for the last decade. To me, the best part of this club – aside from the rocks, of

Meeting Announcements

  • Our wagonmaster, Roger, will go over the field trips he has planned for this year, including samples of what you can find at each location.   Show and Tell: Your Best Rock Find Of Last Year.

  • Maureen Carlisle, Former Docent at the Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture, will take us through A Day on a Dig: “Over the years I’ve been asked about what it is like to be on a dino dig, so I’d like to answer some of these questions. I’ll cover some of the practical aspects of both archaeology and paleontology, as I have had the pleasure of being involved in both.” Show and Tell: bring a fossil or artifact that you’ve found or collected.

  • Come one, come all and play ROCK BINGO! With schools out for many local school districts, we invite members, guests, and especially families and kids to come and enjoy one of our most fun nights of the year. Everyone is guaranteed to win at this FREE event! All you have to do is bring three wrapped presents – presents can be rocks, gems, minerals, crystals, fossils, cabochons, slabs, jewelry, tumbled stones – anything you think might be a nice gift for a rock enthusiast.
