  • Remember our August picnic is coming up. As I am writing this monthly message, we have not reserved a location or have a confirmed date. We are trying to reserve a location at Lake Wilderness Park on Sunday August 5th or 12th. As soon as we have confirmed a location and date it will be posted on the website.   • Annual Potluck Picnic and Auction – Sunday, August 5th

    Our picnic will be Sunday, August 5th at our regular location, Lake Wilderness Arboretum. Bob Wahlberg has reserved this space for us for several years. He has also moved the tables in and out for our use. We owe him a huge thanks for all the years he has done this for our Club!! Thank you!   • General Meeting – July 12th

    Topic: Gemstones of Washington Bob Pattie gave a talk on the “Gemstones of Washington” at the NFMS Rock & Gem Show in Yakima earlier this year. His presentation was very well received. I thought we would all enjoy hearing his talk and Bob has agreed to repeat his presentation for us.   Show ‘n Tell: Gemstones from the Northwest.

  • July 12th Youth Program – Do You Need Help With Your Case?

    If you need help or have questions regarding putting your case together for our Gem Show in September just show up at our General Meeting at 6:30 pm. Mike and Kat will be available to help. The Cascade Mineralogical Society is a member of AFMS’s program Future Rockhounds of America. All kids belonging to clubs affiliated with Future Rockhounds of America automatically receive the FRA Membership Badge. The badge program is designed to encourage young Rockhounds to learn further about the hobby of rocks, minerals and/or fossils.
