  • June President’s Message – NFMS – Bitterroot Rock and Gem Show

    I was very excited as Mike and I left for the NFMS – Bitterroot Rock and Gem Show in Hamilton, Montana. I was so looking forward to seeing Montana again as the last time I visited the state was in 1985. The drive was easy, weather a little misty at times and the scenery beautiful! Having been raised in southern California I find the northwest scenery beyond compare. Google said 8.5 hours but it took us 10.5 hours as we made several stops to stretch our legs.   • Artistic Wire Wrapping Class

    Artistic Wire Wrapping Class I teach artistic wire wrapping not the classic style. The wire wrapping techniques are the same for both but the styles and wire are different. June 10th, Saturday – 12:15 pm to 2:15 pm (We have the room from 12n to 2:30 pm. They are very strict on us getting in and out on time.)   • Looking ahead to the 2017 Washington State Fair, Puyallup.

    The Puyallup State Fair receives very few entries for it’s Lapidary section. Therefore, they have notified us they are going to close down this category if entries do not pickup. We don’t want this to happen! So plan on entering into the Fair a sample of your hobby or lapidary work. If you do anything with rocks, crystals, fossils, silversmithing, etc. there is a category for your work. You do win prize money at every win level. Online registration open May 2017.
