Cascade Mineralogical Society – Kent, Washington


Cascade Mineralogical Society is a non-profit educational organization. We welcome individuals interested in geology, mineralogy, paleontology, gems and related lapidary arts to join us. The objective of the club is to stimulate interest in the study of the earth sciences, lapidary arts and related subjects. These goals will be accomplished through educational presentations, personal experience and demonstrations at club meetings and other public presentations. The club also provides opportunities for field trips, rock collecting and social gatherings. We are located in Kent, WA.

All are welcome and membership is open to everyone.

    Presidents Message – September 2017   I want to thank everyone that attended our Annual Picnic and Auction at Lake Wilderness. It was a huge success in all aspects. We had our regular beautiful spot under the trees. We all enjoyed visiting with our new and old members plus guests. Thanks to Bob Wahlberg we are able to have use of this spot each year.     Thursday, September 14th – General Meeting Karissa Smith, Emergency Management Coordinator for the City of Renton will speak on the Geology of Cascadia. The geology of our area affects us all who live here. It should be a very interesting presentation. Show ‘n Tell: A Washington rock or mineral.
