Cascade Mineralogical Society is a non-profit educational organization. Our club is a proud member of the Northwest Federation of Mineralogical Societies, American Federation of Mineralogical Societies and the WA Mineral Council.

We welcome individuals interested in geology, mineralogy, paleontology, gems and related lapidary arts to join us. The objective of the club is to stimulate interest in the study of the earth sciences, lapidary arts and related subjects. These goals will be accomplished through educational presentations, personal experience and demonstrations at club meetings and other public presentations. The club also provides opportunities for field trips, rock collecting and social gatherings. We are located in Kent, WA.

    A Note from the President’s Desk . . . We had 30 members and their families attend our holiday dinner this year. This was the largest turnout we have had in several years. It was so nice to visit with everyone and to enjoy the good food everyone brought. Thank you for reelecting me to the Presidency and to the other Board members that are continuing to serve another term on the Board. Meeting Announcements

  • Thursday, February 8th – General Meeting

    Thursday, February 8th – General Meeting Map’s and Map Reading by Bob Pattie It will include a discussion on types of maps such as Township, Quadrangle grid, GPS readings, also maps on land ownership, informational, and recreational, with the emphasis on rock collecting. I will have sample maps to review. This information should help you be better prepare for field trips and maybe help you find the collecting sites easier.
